MBOX File Viewer Privacy Policy

Effective date and last updated: October 6, 2026

Summary

MBOX File Viewer is designed to process MBOX email archives locally on your iPhone or iPad. The app does not require an account or email sign-in, and it does not upload your archives, email contents, attachments, or search terms to Coobbi.

The app does not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking. Remote images and web requests in HTML email are blocked by default.

Information Processed on Your Device

When you select an MBOX file, the app reads the archive on your device to provide its core functions. This may include message content, sender and recipient information, subject lines, dates, attachments, MIME headers, and search terms.

To provide functionality, the app may store on-device security-scoped file references, recent-file metadata, a local full-text search index when you use Full-text Search, and temporary files created for attachment preview or export. This information is not transmitted to Coobbi.

You can remove an entry from Recent Files. Removing the app removes its local app data, subject to iOS and device-backup settings.

Files, Exports, and Sharing

Previewing or exporting an attachment, EML file, or PDF may create a temporary local file. These temporary files are removed when the associated flow is completed where supported by iOS.

If you use the iOS Share sheet or Files to share or save an export, you choose the recipient, app, cloud provider, or location. Their privacy practices apply after you share or save the file.

Purchases

Lifetime Pro purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple may process information needed to complete, restore, or validate a purchase under its own policies. Coobbi does not receive or store your full payment-card information.

Network Access and HTML Email

By default, the app blocks remote http:// and https:// images and web requests embedded in HTML email. Inline cid: images are read from the message archive already on your device. This helps reduce the risk of remote content providers receiving information when you view an archived email.

The app may communicate with Apple services when you make or restore an in-app purchase. A document provider, such as iCloud Drive or another Files provider, may separately communicate with its own service when you select or access a file.

Information You Send Us

If you contact us at 695342062@qq.com, we receive the information in your message, such as your email address, device details, and support request. We use it only to respond to and manage support, protect our rights, or comply with legal obligations.

Please do not send MBOX archives, passwords, or sensitive email content unless we specifically request it through an appropriate secure channel.

Data Sharing and Retention

We do not sell personal information or share MBOX archives, email contents, attachments, or local search indexes with advertising networks or data brokers. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.

App data remains on your device until you remove it, remove the app, or iOS removes it according to its storage and backup behavior. Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for support, recordkeeping, disputes, agreements, or legal obligations.

Children's Privacy and Security

The app is not directed to children under the age requiring parental consent in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. We use iOS security features and keep archive processing on-device, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure.

Changes and Contact

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app, applicable law, or our practices. We will post updates here with a revised Last updated date.
